I had to post this cute picture of Evely dressed up. She has somehow decided that she doesn’t like to wear cute fancy dresses to church anymore. Only jeans for this little cutie. I coaxed her into this dress for the Christmas program and she was so adorable. I think she may have decided that going back to dresses is a good thing.
PrintYup, it’s that time of the year again. Each year we travel downtown to enjoy a phenomenally fun party that Tom’s work puts on for the families of the hospital. The kids seem to enjoy it more and more each year. I commented to Tom that last year I was thrilled that I had one diaper and some wipes in my purse. This year….nothing of the sort! It is so nice.
We had two caricatures done this year. Enjoy…

Tom said he looks like he’s married to Dolly Parton in this picture….hmmmm.
If you would like to check out some of our previous caricatures and see how we’ve all “grown” look here or HERE
I always take a picture of the kids before going down for this event, so here is this year’s photo. This only took about 20 shots to get a decent one.
The kids enjoy seeing Santa and sitting on the jolly guy’s lap. This year Jaden asked for a Green Machine, Evely for makeup and hairspray (yes, that is what I said) and Julian asked for the oh-so-hoped-for Nintendo DS. Julian made Santa a bracelet while there because he said that he “really hadn’t been that good this year”. He said he really gets mad at Jaden and hits him too much. I didn’t think he would give it to him but he really did. (Another thing you don’t have to teach a child – bribery!)
Good Memories! I love my family!
PrintWe woke up early as usual and got Julian ready for school. I checked the closings list on the computer to make sure school was in session and it reported “no closings or delays”. So off to the bus stop he went. After waiting and waiting he came running.
“It must be a snow day, Mom! I’m gonna get my snowboard!”
So off to check the t.v and sure enough – no school. The first really decent snow of the season and the first snow day. How fun! (Too bad we didn’t sleep in.)
PrintAnother update on my Mom’s progress….
I left the last update with my Mom waiting three weeks and having her tumor marker checked again. It had risen to the 60′s and her Pet Scan showed some new activity of cancer. Well, the three weeks have flown by and her blood was checked again. It came back at a count of 93. That is not too bad! Usually within two weeks of her count going up, it just skyrockets into the 300′s. So the surprised Doctor suggested that she wait another 4 weeks and then have it rechecked. That will put her at the end of the year and NO chemo through Christmas.
This is such a wonderful gift! Continue to pray that her marker stays down and for healing in every cell of her body.
I read this verse this morning. It is so true…
And the LORD passed before him and proclaimed, “The LORD, the LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth,
