A word of encouragement

November 10, 2005

This word was on my email this morning. It really meant a lot to me as I prepared to go and shave off all my Mom’s hair today. In the face of loss, there is serious HOPE.

Life is funny. You find yourself in places and doing things that you NEVER thought you would ever do, and somehow God gives us the grace to carry on, to cope, to overcome despite it all.

Don’t lay down and let life pass you by, get up and fight! Most fighting is really done best on your knees.

Beloved ones, I know you are weary and frustrated with your losses. I AM drawing you to get your focus off your misery and begin to exercise the rights I have given you through prayer. It is time to learn how to recover what has been stolen.

Ask Me for help to restore your losses. I seek and find that which is lost. Join Me! Be persistent in your faith until you get your rewards. Do not stop short of your goal, do not settle for less. Begin to put your foot down and command that what the enemy has stolen be returned.

Dear ones, I know you are weary, hurting and discouraged. Let go of the outdated tapes that repeat in your mind. Put the past behind you and don’t give up. Be persistent. With one foot in front of the other, overcome one step at a time. Keep going, you are almost there. As you trust Me to answer your prayers, I will draw you along the right path in spite of yourself. If you do not give up, you shall recover all.

1 Sam 30:3-4,8 NLT
When David and his men saw the ruins and realized what had happened to their families, they wept until they could weep no more….Then David asked the LORD, “Should I chase them? Will I catch them?” And the LORD told him, “Yes, go after them. You will surely recover everything that was taken from you!”

By the way. . .Mom looks adorable with her little round bald head!!! :)

  1. I was praying today and I just said, “Lord, if you are so awesome and incredible that you can keep the entire world going day to day, you created everything, you’ve been to the end and know the plan ahead, then surely my life isn’t anything that you can’t control.” Stay encouraged, Judy. He does have your life under control. Keep the faith!

  2. Isn’t it encouraging and awe-inspiring to know that the God who cared about your speeding tickets cares infinitely more for your mom?

Tell your mom that bald is chic! :)

  3. The enemy stole Jessica from us for six months (actually it was a three year battle), but God brought her back AND gave us two more children. He not only restores what is lost but gives us back above and beyond that which was lost!

The older I get the more I can’t imagine not having the Lord in my life. How do people make it without Him? I am so thankful that we have an eternal hope. Thank you Lord for recovery and restoration! May it be so in Judy’s life!

  4. Yes, Yes and Yes! I agree with what you all said. That is so encouraging.

Jules, I think about Jessica’s case often. That is when I learned to really pray! He was faithful in that circumstance. You felt all along that the Lord told you that Jessica was yours and we prayed that way even when they sent her back to her birth Father and we all said goodbye. He will always make good on what He has promised! I am hanging my hat on that.

  5. Now we will have a pool to see whose hair grows faster: Evely or Grandma Judy! :o)
