Cruise Ship Here we Come

Well, you probably thought I had fallen off the face of the earth as I haven’t posted for several days. It’s been a little crazy around here with sick kiddos. I had nothing worthy to write about except to complain – so what was the point.

I am excited to tell you all that Mom and Dad are preparing to leave for their Caribbean Cruise this week. I am so glad that Mom didn’t cancel their trip when she really wanted to a few months ago. We never knew if this day would come and now we can all rejoice with them that they are going to be on their way!

Yesterday I met Mom and Dad at Olive Garden for lunch. I think you can see the glint of excitement in their eyes. They had just come from doing some last minute shopping for the trip and I could just feel their anticipation.

For some reason when I tell people that Olive Garden is probably one of my top 3 restaurants, I get this funny look. I LOVE their food. Their salad and soup is wonderful and the Bellini iced tea is phenomenal! I never order anything but water in a restaurant – except for Bellini iced tea!! If you haven’t tried it, you must.

Zuppa Toscana, mmm mmmm good!

If you like sweet peach tea with fresh peach slices, you”ll love Bellini!

And of course Princess Evely was the star of the restaurant as she flirted with everyone within view of her sweet smile!

This trip for Mom and Dad is very special to me. On September 21st, when the rug was pulled out from all of us, we just didn’t know the future. All we knew was that God had really spoken to Mom that she would LIVE. We have clung to that and now that we are beginning to feel that rug beneath our feet again, we can truly praise Him for his faithfulness.

“I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and let your heart take courage…” (Psalms 27:13-14, NASB)

If you have any cruise tips for Mom and Dad, feel free to post them!!

Thanks, Carl! Yeah, I think Mom looks really cute in all her hats. She even told me that after her hair comes back in, she will probably continue to wear hats now.

Tip #1: A trip like this is enjoyed much better when in-laws are invited.

Tip#2: If you ever feel like taking another cruise, refer to tip#1.

I love that tea, too! Yum, I wish I had a glass. I love their soups. You’ve got me hungry for Olive Garden now!

I want to go on a cruise someday! (As long as I don’t get sea sick like in Mexico. Puking in front of a boat full of Mexicans and tourists is very embarassing.) I am so glad your mom and dad get to go on this trip of a lifetime. They soooo deserve it. I rejoice with you all!

I think the formal nights sound so fun. Enjoy playing dress-up!

Tom, I agree!!! I have to say that as happy as I am for them, I am equally just as jealous! (in a good way)

Hon, we have to do this some day in the near future.

Wouldn’t it be fun to go on one together, with or without the kids! Don’t they have daycare!

I am working on James about heading to Florida, next! Woohoo!

Judy, you do look great in hats!

This trip my parents are taking is with all their couple “buddies” they hang out with. What fun!!

Yeah, one day soon our kids should be old enough to either stay with someone at home or go with us!!

The best cruise advise I can give: 1)Go on a pre-cruise fast, but keep your water intake up to keep the stomach stretched to maximum capacity — so many buffets and snack hours, so little time! 2)I can not state it enough — LOOSE CLOTHES, LOOSE CLOTHES, LOOSE CLOTHES!! {refer to no.1} 3)Last but not least, have a wonderful time!
