Karen,
Your journey that you took us on was very humbling....it makes me more appreciative of my family and my ralationship with my Mom - some things we just can't take for granted.
I'm anxious to see what God has in store for you in this new chapter of your families life - what an exciting time! Soak it in, cherish it.....

Amazing, Karen, you are a amazing writer! Your thoughts brought tears to my eyes and I wish once again I could be with you, even for a day or two. I hope some day you will use all this God given talent of yours and write a book!

I am praying for you and wondering often how you are doing. How is your Dad? How is Mike? and your kids? I miss you. Don't worry about not emailing. Take all the time you need to think, pray, live this new life. I will be here.

You, know, when I think of your mom, a few things always come to mind. Homemade brownies, orange rolls on Sunday mornings, and "it will make you bitter, or it will make you better." I smiled when I read that in your post.

I love you.

Thanks, Kenny! I have wanted to write a book for years but never have had the time to do it. I am thinking of going back to college this Fall when Evely starts kindergarten. I'm not sure where that will take me but I would like to take some writing courses. We'll just wait and see what God has in store for me.

Karen,
You have a real talent in how to relay your thoughts and feelings in words. I really think you should consider writing a book. Everytime you post a new entry in your log I cannot stop reading it until I finish it. God has given you a talent and I believe he will show you a way to put this to use where it will bless many. Your blog already does but I believe there is bigger things to come. That's my story and I'm sticking with it!!

Very well put, Karen. Just as the book of your mom's life was a novel, so too will be the book of your grief. There are no short story books of grief. At times you will want to run far away from the book but it will call you back, and you will go. And just like the end of the book of your mom's life, in time you will also lay the back of the book on the pages, lightly touch the cover and smile at who God has transformed you into. You will be a better mother, wife, sister, and friend. You will be a light to those who find themselves wandering in the darkness of tragedy and grief, and you will be the soft place to catch those that are hurting. Change takes courage...be courageous!
