Halloween Moments

Well, here it is Monday morning – weekend recovery as my friend Jules and I fondly refer to it. I decided to take a small reprieve from the loads of laundry to download my pictures from Halloween and the weekend.

We had quite the busy weekend here. I was so blessed to take off for a Scrapbook Retreat up North on Friday night. We stayed up till about 3:00 a.m. did a little sleeping and then right back to it the next morning. I got home about 5:30 Saturday just in time to put the house in a little order and prepare for a fun crew for a bonfire and weenie roast. We had 10 kids here under the age of 9. They had a ball – I think. I know that the adults had fun!

Halloween seemed much easier this year. All three of the kiddos really got into dressing up. No crying and tearing off the costumes. No Grandparents had to call and try to talk them into getting dressed up! Everyone was ready to head out for an evening of gathering and loading up on sugar!

I took the kids to McD’s for supper. Grandma and Grandpa met us there to share in the tasty “kid cuisine”. Then on to Uncle Kenny and Aunt Barb’s, then my parents and later did a little Trick-Or-Treating here in town. It was a busy and enjoyable evening!

Here are a few pics. I know you are dying to see what the kids looked like in their costumes.

Julian was so fun! He wanted to do all these Spiderman poses for the camera. He was really in his element. By the way, Kenny and Barb, this costume is what your money was spent on by Julian. He already had a spiderman costume and I told him I wasn’t buying another one. Especially one that cost $20. He had to have the black Spidey outfit and the one that is “buff”, so he used his gift money to buy it. I think he has worn it every day! (Yes, another example of how cheap I am – mean Mommy!)

Evely loved being a lion! She would stop and smile for the camera.

Here’s Jaden on the way home from trick-or-treating! Yup, the sugar high wore off and he bottomed out.

Karen – these pictures are adorable. What precious memories you are storing up! I love watching your children grow up . I spent a couple of evenings looking back through all of my albums at the costumes over the years. They do all love dressing up, don’t they?

Tell your Mom hi and we miss her. We just heard from Cathy and they are expecting again. Baby is due June 24th. We have mixed emotions – we’re very happy but sad that we won’t be able to bond with this baby like we did all the others. Of course, Cherilyn is hoping for a sister and like the drama queen that she can be, has said that if it’s a boy, she’s going to her room and shutting the door and never coming out again!

I love the costumes. I’m too cheap to spend 20 bucks, too.

I keep forgetting to check your blog cuz I used to get notified when you had a post. The notification thingy got disabled somehow and now I’m not used to checking on my own. :fish
