Smitten!

I have always known that somewhere along the line, a “thing” happens between little girls and daddy’s. I just didn’t know how or when the phenomenon occurred. . .till now.

Evely is now 9 months old and this past weekend she started crawling! Also, this past weekend she has discovered how to tame Tom (Daddy). All of a sudden when he comes home, she puts on her cutest look ever, peeks at him out of the corner of her eye and bats her eye lashes. She then reaches for him and when he takes her in his arms, she buries herself into him. She has him completely smitten!

Daddy. . .Sucker!

It’s adorable watching Tom fall in love with this precious little girl. It really is such a different relationship from the boys and what fun it is for a Mommy to watch this happen.

“Certain is it that there is no kind of affection so purely angelic as of a father to a daughter. In love to our wives there is desire; to our sons, ambition; but to our daughters there is something which there are no words to express.”

Joseph Addison quote

Actually, I must admit. . .I am a sucker too. Tom, you are my Knight in Shining Armor and my hero! I love you.

Awwww…..What a sweet post. I see this all the time in my home too. James is so glad to have 4 girls. Elaina is in bed with him now, all snuggled up to him. Sometime, early every morning she goes to his side of the bed and crawls in. He talks big about making her go back to her bed. Yeah right!

Just wait ’till Valentines Day. James goes shopping each year and brings home gift bags full of chocolate and stuffed animals for the girls. And if they are sick he brings home stuffed animals, coloring books, toys, etc. for them. He talks fondly about all his girls and I am happy to be included too! It’s funny cuz they spoil him back!

I remember the times my dad would come home from work with a dolly or special toy for me. He bought me special gifts like that clear through graduation.

I am so glad you and Tom have a little girl. They are such special blessings.

Aunt Marlis, I remember how PROUD grandpa was to have 5 daughters and lots of granddaughters. He teasingly called us his harem!

I must say I was not expecting such a welcome home. Even when she is with Karen she always looks over to me. But man she can sure scream loud next to my ear if she wants someone or something else. I feel like I’ve not been around lately with the construction going on. Not that I’m doing much of the work, but planning and coordinating takes time away. Maybe a Branson trip after we’re through would be nice. It’s sad that Branson is the best trip Mo. has to offer for the whole family. But it sure is fun.

As long as no one gets sick. Lately that’s been a challenge when going to B.

Nothing quite like Fatherly love. Do we always seek our Heavenly Father the way Evely does Tom? Such a beautiful living illustration.

Yes, I remember. I don’t think daddy missed not having any boys. Of course he had one TOMBOY, (ME)

That’s really true, Kevin! That’s a great insight and picture of our relationship with our Father.

Welcome, Sarah! I’ve heard lots of great stuff about you. I enjoy your blog, too!

Okay, we will have to see about a Branson trip. Money is starting to get really tight with the room addition expense. It would be great to go see all the Christmas lights.

Thanks, Karen… I’ve been enjoying your comments on my blog! :-) By the way- your blog is beautiful… I love the texture in the background. It makes me think “cozy”.

I miss Branson during the Christmas season! I went to college in Springfield, so there were many sacred trips to see the lights and do wintry things. Enjoy it for me if you go!

The background reminds me of a Triscuit.
