What is Cabin Fever?

I’ve always thought that cabin fever meant that you are cooped up and need to get out. However, I seem to have come to the end of my rope with winter over here but I don’t know what it’s called. I actually don’t want to get out of the house, but while in the house I can’t seem to get motivated to do anything. Maybe it’s just called being lazy…..hmmm.

Feel free to enlighten me if you are reading this and can relate or know what I am experiencing.

Here’s an adorable picture I must post of the boys. This was taken over at my Mom and Dad’s house.

Jaden is wearing my dad’s cap that says “Retired, No Work Required!” funny…

This is how I am feeling – only inside the house!

One more thing….My Mom is going to have her dr.’s appointment tomorrow afternoon. They will recheck her tumor marker count again. Please pray that the number drops and that it doesn’t go up anymore. Thanks so much for your prayers!

I think it’s called “Sick And Tired Of The Dreary, Dark, Cold Winter” disease :!: All I want to do these days is go take a nap! I have no motivation to do much of anything right now. I wish global warming was real on days like today. ;)

Oh, Spring….calling Spring…you can come out now!

I think I skipped cabin fever and went straight into depression! or apathy is more like. Apathy is a state of indifference — where an individual has an absence of interest or concern to certain aspects of emotional, social, or physical life (thank you Webster). We need to plan our get-away weekend maybe if we had something to look forward to than it wouldn’t seem so blah, BLAH, blah!

You got me there, Mic!!! Let’s do that. That would definitely help.

Hey, I’m impressed that you got the dictionary out and looked that up! That is probably where I am at – apathetic.

Here is the definition for Cabin Fever – thanks for dictionary.com

    cabin fever
    –noun
a state characterized by anxiety, restlessness, and boredom, arising from a prolonged stay in a remote or confined place.

    and here is Lazy -

    la·zy (lā’zē) Pronunciation Key
    adj. la·zi·er, la·zi·est

    1. Resistant to work or exertion; disposed to idleness.
    2. Slow-moving; sluggish: a lazy river.
    3. Conducive to idleness or indolence: a lazy summer day.
    4. Depicted as reclining or lying on its side. Used of a brand on livestock.

I now know what I have: Cabin Fever with Lazyitis and a touch of apathy.

I know what you mean. During the week I don’t want to leave, but I don’t want to do my household chores either. I feel a little numb. I want so badly to go outside and vibrate sand something!!!! If I could take Roxie for a spin I know I’d feel much better! I need to catch a big crawdad and plant a tree. All these things would help — I’m sure of it!!!

Yup, Jules, I’m there with ya! I would love to get on the riding mower and cut the grass in some very WARM weather, plant some flowers, water some tomatoes and sit on my swing on the deck, listen to my fountain bubble and watch the kids play in the dirt.

    Spring can’t come quick enough!

I can’t wait to have a garage full of containers of critters again! I think over the course of the summer last year we had hundreds of crawdads and tadpoles and frogs and earthworms in the house and garage!!! I’m so glad we live close to a pond. It’s the best entertainment for the kids!

Anjelia was so cute last year taking her bowl of earthworms with her everywhere we went.

Sometimes I feel badly because the kids don’t get to grow up in the country like I did. I had sooooooooo many critters to enjoy. It was the best part of my summers.

I still want one of those bunnies. I got brave and mentioned it to James this morning. He said he would take me there saturday. I hope there will be one left.

I’d just like to pee off the deck without it freezing off. :x

Thank goodness, I am not the only one. Not only do I stand and stare out the window, don’t clean my house, but all humans and animals in my house have suddenly turned irritating.
We solved the problem by going to the Coterie Theater (tickets are cheap) and buying a big bag of peanut M&Ms.

Richard and I left for Cross Creek, Co. last Friday just to get away. And of course Iam sure your wondering—-Getting away to snow cap mountains 9500 ft high in a 30 ft RV?
Well we did and of course I got cabin fever even with new surroundings. We are nestled between mountains with tall pine trees that have snow on them. The walks helped and eating lots of chocolate made me feel better.
Tomorrow we head back after spending time here to see the splinder of God’s power and creation in making mountains.
As I was walking around outside,Karen ,I was praying for your Mother.
